"It's always the things that everybody else thinks are mistakes that are actually advantages if we look at them that way."

Today’s episode was ripped directly from one of our 10,000 NOs Working Actors Community weekly zooms where Matt addresses the challenges that face our members. Today, we discuss how hardships can actually be an opportunity. If we get too fixated on our problems we can miss the opportunities right around us. Matt uses the acting example of Marlon Brando in On The Waterfront. In one particular scene, Eva Marie Saint's character drops her glove. Brando's character picks up the glove and put it on while sitting on the swing. This "mistake" ended up being a memorable moment that many believed symbolized the intimacy in the character's relationship. What one may view as a mistake, can actually be an advantage.

10,000 NOs is here to inspire you and help you realize you are not alone if you’re battling to overcome rejection in your career or life.

So, if you’re an actor, writer or filmmaker and you like what you hear in the snippets from our Working Actors Community zooms enough to want to be a part of it, CLICK HERE.

Remember, “failure” is just opportunity in disguise, and you can flip the script to make your setbacks serve you.

SHOW LINKS:

10,000 NOs: THE BOOK

SUBSCRIBE TO OUR (WEEKLY) NEWSLETTER

FOLLOW MATT ON SOCIAL

FIND OUT HOW YOU CAN JOIN THE WORKING ACTORS COMMUNITY

"You have to make a decision when you're clear and sober; and you have to go, this is what I want. And then if you really think that, then you have to do it come hell or high water."

Today’s episode was ripped directly from one of our 10,000 NOs Working Actors Community weekly zooms where Matt addresses the challenges that face our members. Today, we discuss the importance of sticking to our plan even when we can't see what is next. There will be peaks and valleys along the way, but we must remember nothing is permanent.
"I think we need to do a better job of assessing our pros and cons. Sure, you have cons. Sure, maybe you were too big on that one tape. And you did this or that. But you're great also. You're great... and you can be better!"

Today’s episode was ripped directly from one of our 10,000 NOs Working Actors Community weekly zooms where Matt addresses the challenges that face our members. Today, we discuss how we evaluate ourselves and how to reframe our perceived troubles. It's not about what happens, but more so how we view what happens. We can tailor our self talk to not speak against ourselves in order to put us in a position to succeed. A simple reframe can often serve us in the long run.
