Brian is the Chief Executive Officer of Compass - A bible based financial resource organization. After a 15-year career in the corporate world, Brian never thought it was on his agenda to lead a non-profit, but God's agenda was different. In this episode, Brian talks about the faith and trust that it took to make that change...to give up the comfort and lifestyle that him and his family knew. In this episode we unpack the parable of the talents in Matthew 25: 14-30. Brian has different points he dives into when it comes to ownership, our relationships, and how the worst thing we can do is...nothing. Brian is also the author of a new book called Financial Discipleship for Families. How we can most intentionally raise faithful children and how we can incorporate teaching points on money, stewardship, and generosity to the next generation.

Learn more about Compass, their resources, and Brian’s book:

www.compass1.org

https://a.co/d/9dhzDHN

After spending most of his life learning, studying, and training on what God's word says about money, wealth, and possessions, Dan Schilling started feedsheep.org. FeedSheep is a non-profit platform that provides resources and training so that people and churches can be more thoroughly equipped when it comes to these topics. The resources and tools FeedSheep provide enable us to better apply the information learned when it comes tour financial journey.

Because of Dan's knowledge and expertise when it comes to this area, we spend time in different parables and verses dealing with money and really focus on the pitfalls and warning signs that God lays out for us to hold on to. We also talk about what it means to abide and demonstrate obedience when it comes to our willingness to grow in this topic. Ultimately our goal is to hear God's voice, follow his lead, and thrive as his disciples.

Listen towards the end as Dan shares a story about selling his old home and wrestling with the ownership piece and how surrendering it all took great trust.
Do we involve God in every aspect of our life? Do we allow enough space in our lives to partner with God for him to have an active role in our lives? Can he trust us with more?

David Toussaint joins me on today's episode to answer these questions and more. David is a part of the Compass community and is also active in financial coaching. In addition, he just completed another book, When Money Gets Personal.

David shares stories of how God has worked in his life going all the way back to his real estate days and how God showed his faithfulness during that experience.

David and I discuss Luke 16:11 amongst other verses in scripture. Here in Luke we find ourselves wondering what we need to do to be trusted with true riches. It often starts with how we are stewarding our worldly wealth.

Finally, in today's episode, we spend time talking about God's expectations of us and how we are constantly challenged by the world that is trying to pull us away from him.

https://compass1.org/

When Money Gets Personal: https://a.co/d/5C2dmnx
