Reynaldo Lopez and Chris Sale are each in Cy Young contention at the moment. (18:00) The Braves drafted Cam Caminiti with the 24th overall pick in Sunday night's MLB Draft. Caminiti is a 17-year old left-handed pitcher from Scottsdale, Arizona. Most experts expected Caminiti to be picked well before Atlanta's turn. David & Eric react to the inclusion of Reynaldo Lopez, Chris Sale, and Marcell Ozuna into the "Midsummer Classic." (05:00) David relays how special Saturday night was as Bobby Cox received a thunderous standing ovation from the home crowd. It is only the second time that Cox was at Truist Park since his stroke in 2019. Eric tells the listeners about the time that the former skipper truly had his back. (16:00) Atlanta took the final two games of the three game series against the visiting Phillies. Spencer Schwellenbach had a solid outing as he only allowed one run in Saturday night's 5-1 victory. The Braves played three different teams last week and ended it with a series victory over the visiting Pirates. David & Eric begin with Max Fried, who went toe to toe with Paul Skenes on Saturday afternoon. (09:00) David gives an update on Michael Harris II, who has been on the IL since June 15th with a strained left hamstring. (12:00) The Braves beat Pittsburgh on Friday night 6-1 to open the weekend series. All but four of the outs were recorded by pitchers that are in their forties as Charlie Morton handed the ball off to Jesse Chavez. (17:00) Atlanta fell 4-2 on Sunday to miss an opportunity to sweep. Spencer Schwellenbach allowed four runs in only five innings of work, but did notch seven strikeouts. (25:00) The season has passed the halfway point and thus far Orlando Arcia is struggling mightily at the plate. Arcia last season had an OPS of .741 and in 2024 it is far lower at .582.
