On this special A24 vibe discussion to celebrate Easter, we belt out JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR with Musical Theatre Professional Kandra Harper. A musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Jesus Christ Superstar was originally a theatre musical that premiered in 1971 and found massive success, thus leading to the production of the 1973 film. It contains 70s rock opera stylings and all the tell-tale signs of an Andrew Lloyd Webber classic. What will the A24 Rocks crew and guest Kandra think of the 1973 film? Did it do the musical justice? And what will they have to say about the controversy surrounding this film on the week of Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection?
In this psychological horror by Gaspar Noe, a French dance troupe successfully prepares for their upcoming dance competition, and parties with some sangria after. Little do they know, someone spiked the sangria, and the night turns into an upside down world of horror and debauchery. Maybe one of the most experimental A24 films, and certainly one of the most disturbing, the A24 Rocks crew debates if the experimentation in this movie actually led to a thrilling watch. Caution: movie spoilers.

Also, watch Eric's latest Tales of the Great Lakes, an investigation into the unsolved true crime mystery of Christine Woelk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjbTs-REJ-U&t=384s&ab_channel=FirelakeMedia

Intro- 0:00 to 4:45.

Film Discussion- 4:45 to 1:20:10.

Film Ratings- 1:20:10 to End.

Upcoming Podcast Release Schedule:

4/16- Jesus Christ Superstar (1973).

4/23- Gloria Bell (2019).

4/30- Napoleon Dynamite (2004).
