Dr. Xiaoming Jin has extensive training and experience in both neuroscience research and the practice of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and acupuncture. He obtained his undergraduate and graduate degrees in acupuncture and Chinese medicine from Zhejiang University of TCM in Hangzhou, China. After he earned a doctoral degree in the US, he continued his postdoctoral research at Stanford University, specializing on the neurophysiology of epilepsy. He was also involved in establishing the doctoral degree program in acupuncture at Five Branches University and taught courses in acupuncture and biomedical research at several acupuncture schools in the Bay Area. He is currently a tenured associate professor at Indiana University School of Medicine, where his laboratory studies the mechanisms and treatments of epilepsy, brain injury, neuropathic pain, and Alzheimer's disease.
