We sit down with Dr Al Gabriel, a man of many talents. A molecular biologist with a background in ecology and genetics, a BASC Council member (Northumberland), a keen Roe stalker and a freelance writer for shooting magazines, whilst also on a mission to promote diversity in shooting and public understanding of country sports. We discuss a whole range of topics from: - Stalking Roe deer in Northumberland and it's challenges - How Al got into deer stalking - Deer Tick Awareness: The truths vs myths, how best to avoid Lyme's Disease, the secrets of tick deterrents - Ladies in deer stalking, a need for greater diversity and better education of deer management/fieldsports to the wider public - Where does the data of a population of 2M deer (approx.) in the UK come from and is it misinformation? This was probably one of our most interesting conversations we’ve had in a long time. We hope you enjoy it!
