by Mondy
Cafe du Mondy will take you on my journey of labeling, verbalizing, and processing my emotions and experiences that have heavily impacted me over the years. I will give an inside look on how I’ve used audio journaling as a way to identify unhealthy thoughts, perspectives, and behaviors, as well as explore their roots. It has helped me to soothe painful emotions and resolve internal conflict that left me feeling immobile. By spilling my own tea, my hope is to encourage others to understand the power of audio journaling and its ability to enable self-discovery.

In this episode, we dive deep into the complex emotions surrounding regret. I open up about my personal journeys of coming to terms with past decisions and the lessons learned along the way. From lighthearted childhood examples of missed opportunities to pivotal moments I wish I could undo or do differently, I explore how regret doesn't have to be a burden but can instead become a powerful tool for self-discovery, growth, and self-acceptance. Through candid conversation, I address the shame associated with having regrets. What are your regrets? Whether you're navigating your own regrets or simply reflecting on your life’s path, this episode offers comfort and a reminder that it's never too late to make peace with your story.

Feelings of self-doubt, inadequacy, and the fear of exposure has always felt like a mountain standing before me. Have you ever thought to yourself that one day you'll miraculously wake up free from this fear ... just to find yourself dealing with it years later? Have you ever thought: 'if one day this fear didn't exist, I could literally take on the world!'

In this episode, I talk about how difficult it has been for me to confront this head-on. If we really take the time to reflect on our battle with imposter syndrome, we'll uncover the initial experience(s) that caused this to become a hinderance in our lives. While it may be enlightening to uncover what moments caused a significant blow to your self-esteem, it may not heal the pain it caused. It may not heal the areas of our hearts which -- years later -- feel justified in overworking itself to feel an eternal sense of being "good enough". But what if this pursuit has caused you to feel like you've constantly come up short? What if that false perception of not measuring up has caused you to become so fearful of failure and harsh criticisms that you rob yourself of opportunities that you're fully capable and qualified for?

The desire to feel seen and accepted is something we know all too well. We've all felt compelled to tap dance and perform for others to fit in, be more palatable, and well-liked at some point in our lives. When it becomes a habit, it's hard to recognize who we actually are, who we want to be, and how we desire to show up in our everyday lives. In this episode, I unpack how this pressure bled over into my faith walk which frustrated my relationship with myself, God, and my faith-based community.
