<p><strong>KEYNOTE SPEAKER ON SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT, ENVIRONMENT AND AIR QUALITY</strong></p> <p>Baroness Jenny Jones place was taken by Zack Polanski a member of the London Assembly and chair of Londons's Environment Committee. The Clean Air Bill would ensure that people could challenge any expansion of airports that led to an increase in air pollution, such as the ultra-fine particulates associated with aviation, that can infiltrate their way into people's internal organs. Their view is that airports wishing to expand must meet the strict standards that they say are possible with new technologies, <em>before</em> they are allowed to expand. The issues of air pollution and the climate emergency are linked, as the solution to one is often a solution to the other.</p>
