by Ali McLaughlin & Eli Sulkowski

Cold and Missing focuses exclusively on cold cases and unsolved missing person cases. Every week Ali and Eli - a husband and wife duo- will bring you either a Cold Case or a unresolved missing person. Ethically, we are not interested in talking about solved cases and reliving another families trauma. We are interested in being a small part of the solution and the hope of the podcast is to keep unsolved cases in peoples mind and generate tips. Cold and Missing is for fans of true crime who appreciate deep research into cases.

In May of 1991, 9-year-old Christina Pipkin vanished while going door to door selling costume jewelry for a school fundraiser in the tiny town of Hickory Ridge, Arkansas. Described as bright, creative, and full of life, Christina was last seen around 6:30 PM—by nightfall, her family was sounding the alarm. Within hours, half the town had mobilized to search. Days later, her body was found submerged in a water ditch, fully clothed but missing her shoes and school materials. With no clear cause of death beyond drowning, police suspected foul play. Despite a later arrest based on a suspicious comment and a single strand of hair found in a suspect’s car, the case unraveled. Nearly nine years after her murder, charges were dropped, and to this day, no one has been held accountable for Christina’s death. Her case remains cold—but never forgotten.

*** If you know anything about the murder of Christina Pipkin in May of 1991 please call the Arkansas State police at 501-618-8420 ***

Sources:

The Commercial Appeal, Paragould Daily Press, Batesville Guard, Daily American Republic, The Sun, Baxter Bulletin, The Daily World, and KATV

Wanna Connect?

Follow us on instagram @Cold_and_Missing to keep up with active cases and see pictures discussed in the episode

Have a case you want us to cover?
Seventeen-year-old Roger Ellison vanished without a trace from Cedaredge High School in 1981. A gifted skier with dreams of joining the U.S. national team, Roger had a bright future ahead—college acceptance, a scholarship, and plans for an upcoming race. But after a brief conversation at his locker, Roger was never seen again. What followed was a painful and frustrating journey for his family, who were met with indifference from law enforcement and a string of dead-end leads. Despite sporadic tips—including a suspicious teacher, a false sighting in Mississippi, and a chilling deathbed confession from a hunter who claimed to witness Roger’s murder—no trace of Roger has ever been found. Over four decades later, his case remains unsolved, leaving his loved ones and community with haunting questions and a desperate hope for answers. Join Ali and Eli as they go over this case.

*** If you know anything about the disappearance of Roger Ellison in February of 1981 - or his whereabouts today - please call the Delta County Sheriff’s office at 970-874-2000 ***

Sources:

The Daily Sentinel andThe Colorado Bureau of Investigation

Wanna Connect?

Follow us on instagram @Cold_and_Missing to keep up with active cases and see pictures discussed in the episode

Have a case you want us to cover?
In December 1994, six-year-old Esther Lizette Galaz, known to her loved ones as Lizette, vanished from her Tucson apartment complex after stepping outside for just a moment. A bright, caring first-grader, Lizette was last seen near a local convenience store before seemingly disappearing without a trace. As police launched a frantic search, two young witnesses reported seeing a girl matching Lizette’s description being forced into a small pickup truck. The next day, the case took a heartbreaking turn when Lizette’s body was discovered hidden under a discarded mattress in a nearby wash. Evidence pointed to a brutal crime, but despite early leads and a potential connection to other assaults in the area, her case went cold. Now, decades later, advancements in DNA technology have breathed new life into the investigation, with police expanding their search for a suspect. Join Ali as she goes through the details on this cold case.

*** If you know anything about the murder of Esther Lizette Galaz in December 1994 in Tucson, AZ- you are encouraged to 88Crime at 520-882-7463 ***

Sources:

Tucson Citizen, Arizona Daily Star, The Arizona Republic, and KOLD13 News.

Wanna Connect?

Follow us on instagram @Cold_and_Missing to keep up with active cases and see pictures discussed in the episode

Have a case you want us to cover?
