We're thrilled to welcome the dynamic duo, Sydwell Kula and Sizwe Sydney Kula to the Cotton Sensei Podcast for an exclusive debut guest mix, formerly known as Adhesive Twins. Hailing from the culturally rich town of Uitenhage in the Eastern Cape and raised by proud Xhosa parents, their upbringing gave them a deep-rooted connection to music, especially within the house genre. At just 22, Adhesive Twins began curating their own music collection, embracing everything from Deep House and Soulful House to Techno. This passion eventually birthed their own podcast series, District House, where they shared their unique taste with a growing audience. Inspired by legendary South African artists like Black Coffee, Culoe De Song, and Da Capo, they began podcasting early and took their first steps into production in 2011 at DJ Cute SA’s studio, where they mastered FL Studio and refined their sound. In 2020, they dropped their debut album Soulful Twilight, collaborating with artists such as Chronical Deep, Deepconsoul, Deep Sen, Imprazen, Zithane, and Cezwear. They’ve also worked with talented vocalists including Russell Zuma, Fako, Trevor Mako, Thabisa Tyombo and international vocalist Donald Sheffey . Over the years, Adhesive Twins have released multiple EPs through labels like Candid Beings Records, Venoma Muzika, and Iron Rods. Their mission? To redefine the South African music landscape by spotlighting Soulful House and Deep House, genres they feel are still misunderstood by the mainstream. With a vision to grow a powerful movement and mentor new producers, Adhesive Twins are on a journey to put Soulful House on the map and it all starts here.
