<p>The Fourth of July is a special day in American society. On this day in 1776, our Founding Fathers declared their Independence Day from the British Crown. <p>I am incredibly grateful to live in America, the land of the free and the home of the brave. There’s no other country on Earth like it. In America, everyone has an equal opportunity to achieve success and prosperity as long as they are determined, work hard, and show initiative. America is the land of opportunity. It’s where anyone with enough hard work and dedication can make a better life for themselves and their children. This is the American dream.</p><br/><p><br/>But is this lifestyle obtainable for the average American today? Or is the American dream dead?</p><br/><p><br/></p><br/><p>There’s no doubt about it: America has fallen on tough times. Necessities such as groceries, utilities, and gas are unaffordable for the average American, and people are starting to notice. </p><br/><p><br/></p><br/><p>In this episode of Dad Think, Joe discusses why he believes the American dream is still alive despite economic challenges such as inflation, high interest rates, and layoffs. </p><br/><p><br/></p><br/><p>Sources:</p><br/><ul><br/> <li><a href="https://twitter.com/LayeredStrange/status/1790840066530586850?s=19"><strong>https://twitter.com/LayeredStrange/status/1790840066530586850?s=19</strong></a></li><br/> <li><a href="https://twitter.com/LangmanVince/status/1790810316734959998?t=g9u43Ml6i3JzwdYnHMxskA&s=19"><strong>https://twitter.com/LangmanVince/status/1790810316734959998?t=g9u43Ml6i3JzwdYnHMxskA&s=19</strong></a></li><br/> <li><a href="https://twitter.com/KobeissiLetter/status/1791097366155571563?t=ck_WqimAnUk3NDetRNPjDg&s=19"><strong>https://twitter.com/KobeissiLetter/status/1791097366155571563?t=ck_WqimAnUk3NDetRNPjDg&s=19</strong></a></li><br/> <li><a href="https://qz.com/rite-aid-store-closures-chapter-11-bankruptcy-1851455428"><strong>Rite Aid has already closed over 500 stores and more could be on the way</strong></a></li><br/> <li><a href="https://www.thestreet.com/retail/walmart-store-closing-auctioning-off-laptops-and-flat-screen-tvs"><strong>Walmart store closing, auctioning off laptops and flat screen TVs - TheStreet</strong></a></li><br/> <li><a href="https://www.thestreet.com/retail/cvs-is-permanently-closing-hundreds-of-stores-for-a-surprising-reason"><strong>CVS is permanently closing hundreds of stores for a surprising reason - TheStreet</strong></a></li><br/> <li><a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/03/13/investing/family-dollar-dollar-tree-closing-stores/index.html"><strong>Family Dollar and Dollar Tree will close 1,000 stores | CNN Business</strong></a></li><br/> <li><a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/04/04/business/99-cents-only-ending-business-operations/index.html"><strong>99 Cents Only Stores is winding down its business operations</strong></a></li><br/> <li><a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/macys-closing-150-stores-locations/"><strong>Macy's to close 150 stores, or about 30% of its locations - CBS News</strong></a></li><br/> <li><a href="https://www.ksat.com/news/local/2024/05/08/sam-ash-music-store-closing-all-stores-after-100-years/"><strong>https://www.ksat.com/news/local/2024/05/08/sam-ash-music-store-closing-all-stores-after-100-years/</strong></a></li><br/> <li><a href="https://retailwire.com/footlocker-decides-to-close-400-stores/"><strong>Footlocker Decides to Close 400 Stores - RetailWire</strong></a></li><br/> <li><a href="https://nypost.com/2024/05/15/lifestyle/mcdonalds-customers-rage-over-menu-prices-that-have-nearly-tripled-in-a-decade/"><strong>McDonald's customers rage over menu prices that have nearly tripled in a decade</strong></a></li><br/> <li><a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/mcdonalds-price-increases-fast-food-cost-popeyes-wendys/"><strong>Americans are choking on surging fast-food prices.
