by Jim Derry
Dattitude premiered in September 2021 to focus on what's important to sports fans in south Louisiana. While we focus on the Saints, we also talk plenty about the Pelicans, LSU, Tulane, Prep, sports betting, fantasy sports and all the big-time sports events happening in and around New Orleans. Host Jim Derry brings more than 33 years of experience covering sports in the region, and he'll "always tell you the way it is ... or at least the way he THINKS it is."

At least one major NFL “expert” has backed off of the possibility of Shedeur Sanders being picked at No. 9 in the first round of Thursday’s NFL Draft. So what does that mean? A defensive lineman like Jalon Walker? An offensive tackle like Armand Membou or LSU’s Will Campbell? What about tight end Tyler Warren? WWL Radio NFL and Draft analyst Mike Detillier shares his expertise with host Jim Derry on Monday’s Dattitude Podcast (Ep. 364) presented by Evangeline Securities, and Jim asks Mike for his thoughts on the continuing Derek Carr saga. Also, it’s a modified ‘Mano E Monday,’ so the Dattitude Family has plenty to say – especially on Carr. Gabe Henderson is back to see if he can stay hot in ‘Man vs. Machine,’ and Jim’s ‘Last Word’ is on the poor wittle New York Yankees having “no good deed going unpunished.”

It's less than 1 week from the moment we’ll hear Commissioner Roger Goodell go to the podium in Green Bay and say “With the ninth pick of the NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints select …” The big question is what name will come out of his mouth after that lead in? Will it be a quarterback, like Shedeur Sanders, Jaxson Dart, Tyler Shough or Jalen Milroe? Is it necessary because of all the rumors swirling around current quarterback Derek Carr. What makes sense, and what doesn’t? Host Jim Derry spends most of the show talking about this with WWL-TV sports director Doug Mouton on Friday’s Dattitude Podcast (Ep. 363) presented by Evangeline Securities, and of course Jim has ideas of his own. He also ends the show with by honoring in ‘The Last Word’ former Saints right tackle Ryan Ramczyk, who officially retired Thursday.

On Friday afternoon, one of the world’s leading NFL reporters, Ian Rapoport, made a shocking announcement that Saints quarterback Derek Carr has a shoulder injury that could require surgery, a story that was later confirmed by The Times-Picayune’s Matthew Paras and Jeff Duncan. And if said surgery was needed, it could end Carr’s season before it even begins. That’s a whole lotta couldas and wouldas and maybes. What’s true? What makes sense? What does the average Who Dat think? That’s how host Jim Derry spent most of his show on a Mano E Monday edition of Dattitude Podcast (Ep. 362) presented by Evangeline Securities. And there were plenty of opinions from the peanut gallery. Gabe Henderson also shared his thoughts on the subject, and made his pick in another 'Man vs. Machine' segment, as Man tries desperately to improve its winning percentage. On ‘The Last Word,’ Jim pays tribute to former LSU wide receiver Kyren Lacy, who died Saturday night.
