We’d like to introduce you to a new podcast. It’s called Different. But why different?

You know how when you’re wearing sunglasses it puts a tint on everything? Or if you wear glasses you see some things in focus and others out of focus?

Well, we all have lenses on the inside of our head too. And they tint, colour and shape everything we see, think and understand.

So, on this podcast Steve Chalke and Jill Rowe are going to dive headlong into just that as they discover a new ‘meaning making’ story and embrace a fresh way of thinking about life, the universe and everything in-between.

They will talk about getting to a place where we see our lives as part of something bigger than our day-to-day experience - becoming a part of an unfolding story. Finding joy in ordinary moments, facing failure and struggle and discovering liberation and purpose.

They’ll also discuss experiencing life as a gift and learning how to live on purpose. They’ll be peering into dark nights of the soul and finding hope. And simply learning how we are here to walk each home.

We hope you enjoy these conversations – discovering a new story and embracing new thinking.

This podcast is powered by Oasis.
In this episode of the Different podcast, Jill Rowe and Steve Chalke talk about Oasis Restore, the first ever secure school in this country.

Built on a trauma-informed therapeutic model, we chat about believing that relentless love underpins everything, and recognise that this approach should always be the approach.

So how do we make relentless love our strategy when others believe that love is easy and soft? Together, we explore and unpack how relentless love is, in fact, the hardest way and the best way, helping to create connection, belonging, and safety.

This is a revolution in the justice system, and this conversation explains why.

Our title music is written and performed by Jerome Alexander (Message to Bears).

This podcast is powered by Oasis.
In this episode of the Different podcast, I talk with Steve Chalke about shame and guilt. We chat about an experience at an AA meeting, and what a revelation it was of honesty and hope. We explore how shame can cause us to feel unworthy and even paralyse us. Guilt, on the other hand, we see can motivate and move us towards transformation, and making amends. And together we explore more about believing how we are all loved and lovable. And we wonder how different things might be if we believed we are actually, beloved by God. We recognise that we all need champions who affirm that this belovedness is true. So we pray that as you listen, this sense of being beloved finds a home in you.

Our title music is written and performed by Jerome Alexander (Message to Bears).

This podcast is powered by Oasis.
In this episode of the Different podcast, Steve Chalke and I talk about why lament really matters, especially when we are surrounded on every side by seeming chaos. and the 24 hour news cycle. We chat about how to find our way when things seem out of control. And we think about discovering a healthy practice of lemon, through which we can help and support one another. As we go through disruption. We realise that lament is a sacred and holy act. So instead of despising it, see that we can grow through it and find the courage we need to help create a better and more generous world. It felt like this conversation really mattered.

Our title music is written and performed by Jerome Alexander (Message to Bears).

This podcast is powered by Oasis.
