Join the DLLS Stars Post Game with Craig Ludwig, Sam Nestler, Owen Newkirk & John Andersen, as they break down the Dallas Stars 5-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche in Game 1 on Saturday night at American Airlines Center. After a scoreless first period, the Avalanche got second period goals from Artturi Lekhonen and Nathan MacKinnon to take a 2-0 lead after 40 minutes. Roope Hintz’s power play goal early in the third period cut the Stars’ deficit to one, but then Colorado scored three times in the final seven minutes to pull away and claim the victory. Devon Toews, MacKinnon’s second on an empty net and Charlie Coyle all tallied late in the third period for the Avs, who take a 1-0 series lead with Game 2 scheduled for Monday night in Dallas.

Dallas Stars head coach Pete DeBoer announced Friday that forward Jason Robertson is week-to-week with a lower body injury suffered in game 82 against the Predators, meaning Robertson will miss Game 1 against the Colorado Avalanche. On today’s DLLS Stars Podcast with Craig Ludwig, Sean Shapiro, Sam Nestler, Owen Newkirk & John Andersen, we will continue to preview the pending playoff series with Colorado by examining the comparisons of the goaltending and defense for both teams. Sam Nestler will provide a live practice report from Comerica Center in Frisco and then we will all be humbled as we revisit our preseason picks to see just how right (or wrong) we were back in the Fall.

The Dallas Stars are done with the 2024-25 regular season. In spite of a season-long seven game winless skid (0-5-2) to conclude their schedule, Dallas still finished with a record of 50-26-6 (106 points, 0.646), which will either be tied for fourth-best or fifth-best in the entire league (depending on whether Los Angeles beats Calgary tonight). On today’s DLLS Stars Podcast with Craig Ludwig, Sam Nestler, Owen Newkirk & John Andersen, we will begin to preview the Stars’ first round playoff match up with the Colorado Avalanche. Jason Robertson left Wednesday’s regular season finale in Nashville with a lower body injury, generating injury concerns for Dallas’ leading goal scorer. Both the Stars and the Avalanche have prominent forward returning from long-term injuries, so who will have the bigger impact: Tyler Seguin or Gabe Landeskog? Plus, we will take our first looks at all of the other first round series in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
