<p>Happy Friday, happy Good Friday, happy Easter & happy Everything Is Content Day!</p><br><p>This week on the podcast we’re talking about Black Mirror season 7, The celestial sisters who went to space, & ask whether or not you can be too hot to work.</p><br><p>Charlie Brooker’s dystopian tech anthology Black Mirror is back for its seven series, and lots of the reviews have been really positive saying it’s one of the most human series yet, and a return to its best form i.e. its first season. </p><br><p>This one is star-studded, with Chris O’Dowd, Tracey Ellis Ross, Issa ray, Emma Corrin, Rashida Jones and Paul Giamatti to truly only name a few.</p><br><p>Next up, in what sounds like an episode of Black Mirror but isn't... Katy Perry went to space… for eleven minutes. She was joined by Bezos's fiancée Lauren Sánchez and CBS presenter Gayle King, who was reported to have said a highlight of the flight was hearing Perry sing Louis Armstrong's 'What a Wonderful World'. We discuss.</p><br><p>And finally, we are talking about t-shirts. Okay, not quite. We’re talking about a debate which was sparked on X, in part, by pictures of two t-shirts. </p><br><p>Here’s what happened- on April 8th the writer Ashley Reese tweeted this as part of a wider conversation about women and work. She wrote: </p><p>“1) women have always worked 2) it's incredible that women are able to be financially independent in ways that were not as common just a few generations ago and I'm not charmed by jokes—especially from other women—about how gainful employment is the worst thing to happen to women.”</p><br><p>Is it that deep? Or is it just some silly t-shirts? Listen to find out!</p><br><p>Ruchira has been loving <a href="https://www.nowtv.com/watch/hacks/iYEQZ1vXy2NqmZQUwykbdG/iYsxVPYJKUoftBu9Xo5Zmm/seasons/4" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Hacks season 4</a></p><p>Beth has been loving <a href="https://www.waterstones.com/book/who-wants-normal/frances-ryan/9780241629437" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Who Wants Normal, Frances Ryan</a></p><p>Oenone has been loving <a href="https://www.nowtv.com/membership/watch-tv-shows/hbo/watch-the-last-of-us/season-2?DCMP=knc-google:nc_ents&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwzYLABhD4ARIsALySuCQerVL3vNaqtxXv0a2ONahX6qTX2HVzPbb8_ARpycylAhSfeuJ780MaAvJ1EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Last Of Us Season 2</a>, <a href="https://www.paramountplus.com/shows/broad-city/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Broad City</a> and <a href="https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/what-did-you-do-yesterday-with-max-rushden-david-odoherty/id1765600990" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">What Did You Do Yesterday?</a></p><br><p><a href="https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2025/apr/10/black-mirror-tv-show-pessimism" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Black Mirror’s pessimism porn won’t lead us to a better future - Louis Anslow</a></p><p><a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cvg8e5gq8ljo" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Katy Perry In Space</a></p><p><a href="https://x.com/plasticdykeband/status/1909679254536679602" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">T-Shirt Tweet</a></p><p><a href="https://www.cartoonshateher.com/p/youre-not-too-hot-to-work" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Cartoons Hate Her Substack</a></p><br><p><br></p><p><br></p><hr><p style='color:grey; font-size:0.75em;'> Hosted on Acast. <p>Happy hump day! Grab a brew, connect your headphones, and get ready to chat.</p><br><p>This week we're heading (conversationally) to California to discuss weekend one of Coachella! </p><p>We share all of our thoughts- and yours!- about whether America's biggest festival is still a vibe (if it ever was), how it stacks up against Glasto, whether the outfits were outfitting, what acts looked unmissable and what we think is wrong with the luxury festival market. </p><br><p>Thank you so much to everyone who sent in their takes, we looooove being in conversation with you. We would also looooove if you'd leave us a glowing review and 5 star rating on this podcast player (and any others that spring to mind) and this helps others to find the podcast so that we can keep making it. </p><br><p>See you Friday for our main episode!</p><p>O, R, B x</p><hr><p style='color:grey; font-size:0.75em;'> Hosted on Acast. <p>Welcome to a brand new EIC! </p><br><p>Seth Rogen and his long-time collaborator Evan Goldberg have taken aim at the film industry – and no one is safe. A star-studded cameo line-up is the least interesting thing about The Studio, which is a testament to the brilliant writing of this hilarious satire. </p><br><p>(TW; we mention sexual abuse from 23 mins in.) Russell Brand has been charged with rape, indecent assault, and sexual assault. We explore the historic public image evolution he's undergone, and his rebrand to a conspiracist. </p><br><p>Finally, we're being forced to check-out of the White Lotus and it doesn't feel good! Here's what we thought of Mike White's ambitious meditation on desire, demons and drama.</p><br><p>In collaboration with <a href="https://www.cuepodcasts.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Cue Podcasts.</a></p><br><p>Ruchira has been loving <a href="https://open.spotify.com/show/6edrtr63RobTNRuLvU2sfj" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Lucky Boy.</a></p><br><p>Beth has been loving <a href="https://tv.apple.com/gb/show/the-righteous-gemstones/umc.cmc.7i0qo0vj1gkwrj8kyvj45pc9u" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Righteous Gemstones</a> and <a href="https://www.disneyplus.com/en-gb/browse/entity-9d447bb4-a5f0-4ef4-a946-698012ea51b4" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Dying For Sex.</a></p><br><p>Oenone has been loving <a href="https://www.instagram.com/sweetreviewsuk/p/DG8VYXriis1/?img_index=1" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Costa's pistachio cookie.</a></p><br><p><a href="https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2025/mar/26/the-studio-review-seth-rogens-hollywood-satire-is-fast-furious-and-beautifully-fun" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Studio review – Seth Rogen’s Hollywood satire is fast, furious and beautifully fun</a></p><br><p><a href="https://www.sexual-culture.com/p/white-lotus-and-the-pain-of-desire/comments?utm_source=post&comments=true&utm_medium=web" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">'White Lotus' and the pain of desire</a></p><br><p><a href="https://www.gq-magazine.co.uk/article/walton-goggins-interview-2025" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The off-the-grid adventures of Walton Goggins</a></p><hr><p style='color:grey; font-size:0.75em;'> Hosted on Acast.
