<p>Von allen NATO-Staaten hat Deutschland im Ostseeraum die größte Marine. Die sogenannte „Marinehauptstadt Deutschlands“ ist Rostock. Hier sitzt mit dem Marinekommando die höchste Instanz der deutschen Marine und deswegen auch der Inspekteur der Marine sowie sein Stellvertreter, der Befehlshaber der Flotte. Außerdem wächst hier gerade das Marineführungszentrum, eine Art internationales Headquarter für den Ostseeraum. Konteradmiral Stephan Haisch erklärt, warum die Ostsee so wichtig für die Sicherheit Deutschlands und seiner NATO-Partner ist.
