As usual with our album discussion episodes, we first cover some of the general history behind the record and talk about how it came together, and then we discuss each individual track on the album one by one and share our own thoughts and opinions on them. Following this, we cover a few additional recordings and outtakes that the band made around the time, and then to close out the show we briefly discuss the album's critical reception and share a few critic reviews from over the years.

Note- This is the final episode of season two of the Good Timin’ Podcast; we greatly appreciate all of you listening these past 5 months, and we’ll see you again in May for season three!

On this 44th episode of Good Timin', we build our own fantasy "Best of the Rest" album, where we as a group nominate and vote for 24 of our favorite songs that were primarily written by the other official members of the band. (minus Brian) In addition to selecting songs from the official Beach Boys catalog, we're also allowed to nominate outtakes and unreleased material, as well as four songs from any of the members solo careers. (20 Beach Boys songs, 4 solo songs)

Listen to our “Best of the Rest” album here!

Check out our guest Steve's Channel, the Beach Boys Basement!- The Beach Boys Basement with Steve Lewis
