Joe spent 15 years as a Licensed Professional Counselor, working in addictions treatment, couples and family counseling, public safety psychology and organizational psychology before teaching AP Psychology and AP Biology in Virginia public schools the past 23 years. Kathy, a former Board-Certified Music Therapist, worked in psychiatric settings, in music ministry, and directed choral music for middle and high school students for 24 years. Focusing on the work of Bessel Van Der Kolk, the traumatized brain is changed to interpret the world as threatening, and memories are stored not only in the mind but in the body.
