美國加州大學博士，台灣大學教授，曾獲台灣大學第一屆最佳學生導師獎、台灣大學第二屆對社會最有貢獻獎、國科會吳大猷科普創作獎、海峽兩岸吳大猷科普文學獎、行政院金鼎獎(4次)、湯清文藝獎等 小學的時候， 父母給我一個外號，叫「津津有味」。 因為學校的功課，讀的不怎麼樣， 課外的芝麻小事，倒可以講的津津有味。 初中的時候， 同學給我的外號，叫「呆子」， 因為呆子的功課，讀的不太好， 課堂上還與老師衝突，幾乎被學校開除。 高中的時候，自己給自己取個外號，叫「笨三」， 這是愚昧加est， 笨三長的粗壯，還被學校抓去當糾察隊員。 大學的時候， 又有新的外號，叫「小花弟兄」， 因為剛剛信了主，只盼望能像小花一樣地單純， 不過別人說，沒看過這麼大棵的小花。 研究所的時候， 朋友都稱我是「哭泣的蚯蚓」， 暗戀、單戀、失戀，接踵而至， 才開口禱告「主耶穌啊！」，眼淚已流一大灘。 出國唸博士班的時候， 妻子都叫我「阿夫」， 我遇到難處，沮喪自責的時候， 妻子就說：「不准你罵我阿夫」，給我重新思考與提醒。 回來任教的時候， 我要學生叫我「河馬教授」， 因為上帝曾吩咐約伯，你且觀看河馬。 河水氾濫，即使漲到口邊，上帝保守使他安然。 「呆子」有時，「笨三」有時， 「小花弟兄」有時，「哭泣的蚯蚓」有時， 已經不再羨慕什麼「長」，只想靠著上帝 一生做個好家長，與盡責的師長， 這一切，實在是津津有味。 個人著作：科學大師的求學.戀愛與理念、兄弟相愛撼山河—威伯福斯與克拉朋聯盟、南丁格爾與近代護理、電學之父-法拉第的故事、法政捍衛者的憂傷與榮耀、我看到大山小山在跳舞、台灣的水、牽一隻蝸牛去散步、昨夜，我與一顆橘子摔角、星空下飛翔的教授、深入非洲三萬里—李文斯頓傳、為小草去探險、台灣不能沒有客家人、遺傳學之父--孟德爾的故事、上帝的忍者學校與小麻雀、因為愛，才有這個學系、當青蛙念到蝸牛大學、飛機為什麼沒有撞到羊、河馬教授的25堂環保課、速問速答、隱藏的種子－史華璐、蛙做的夢是什麼顏色？、有誰聽到座頭鯨在唱歌、用心點亮世界、世界第一位樹醫生--約翰．戴維、在一個地方，用心營造愛等。 -- Hosting provided by <a href="https://www.soundon.fm/" target="_blank">SoundOn</a>
