การภาวนาก็เหมือนซักผ้า ระหว่างการทำผ้าให้สกปรกกับการทำผ้าให้สะอาด อันไหนมันยากกว่ากัน สกปรกง่าย แต่พอสกปรกแล้วจะทำให้สะอาด ก็ยากแล้ว แต่ถ้าเราอดทน เรามีผ้า เราก็ซักให้ดี เวลาจะใช้ก็ระมัดระวังไม่ให้มันเปื้อน ผ้ามันก็ดูไม่สกปรกมาก การภาวนาก็เหมือนกัน ถ้าเราซักฟอกจิตใจเราด้วยสติด้วยปัญญา ขณะเดียวกันเราก็ไม่ไปทำผิดศีล ให้มันปนเปื้อนความสกปรกเข้ามาอีก ถ้าเราไม่รักษาศีล เหมือนเราทำผ้าให้สกปรกตลอดเวลา พอถึงเวลาจะมานั่งสมาธิมาเดินจงกรมอะไรอย่างนี้ มันสู้กันไม่ไหว ทำสกปรกวันหนึ่ง 10 กว่าชั่วโมง มาปฏิบัติชั่วโมงหนึ่งแล้วก็บ่นเมื่อไรจะบรรลุมรรคผล มันเทียบกันไม่ได้ หลวงปู่ปราโมทย์ ปาโมชฺโช วัดสวนสันติธรรม 9 มิถุนายน 2567
