Host: Brian Butler – Retired educator, former Division 1 basketball player, author, and now… a guy trying (and sometimes failing) to stay healthy.

Description: Welcome to I Can’t Believe I’m 60! From Hoops to Hip Replacement is a funny, honest, and all-too-relatable podcast about navigating life after 60. Hosted by Brian Butler, a former athlete turned retired educator, it explores the joys, challenges, and unexpected twists of aging.

Each episode, less than 30 minutes long, features candid conversations with Brian and his guests—friends, and individuals over 60 sharing their funny, insightful, and sometimes downright ridiculous experiences. From cutting back on fries (sort of), managing blood pressure, and navigating doctor visits to the daily struggle of resisting sweets, no topic is off-limits.

Brian will also be open about his journey—the victories, the setbacks, and everything in between—as he strives to remain active, healthy, and positive (with varying success!).

If you’re over 60 (or simply curious about what’s ahead), join us for laughs, lessons, and genuine conversations about embracing this new chapter of life. Because let’s face it—we might be getting older, but we’re still in the game!

🎙️ New episodes weekly beginning in April.
"On today's episode of I Can't Believe I'm 60! From Hoops to Hip Replacement! I'm joined by my longtime friend Mark Ausbrooks, who is not quite 60 yet and is fast approaching the milestone! Mark and I first met in the mid-1990s when we worked at the same high school, and we've been friends ever since.

A native Washingtonian, Mark is an educator by day and a television production pro by night.

He's also the Director of Development for Deuce and Marleigh Ausbrooks, a title only parents truly understand! Married for over 30 years, Mark has spent the past 25 years living with an artificial hip, making him well-qualified for the Hoops to Hip Replacement part of this show.

He's also an avid reader and a member of an African American book club where they read and discuss at least a chapter weekly, a genuine commitment to lifelong learning.
