A long long time ago, I was in a Richmond Virginia based band called The Jefferson Plane Crash. We were writing an album and our practice space was the old infamous Compound. I distinctly remember walking into the restroom to hit the head and I noticed a perfectly/vertically placed magazine with artwork and imagery that just stood the fuck out to me. 'RVA Magazine'.

Any time I was visiting Richmond to write/play shows with the JPC boys, I'd always scout around for new or back issues of the magazine. I remember how stoked I was when my albums started being printed in it with good reviews. It was such a a tangible and wonderful capture of everything (804). I'd met Tony a few times and I knew he was associated with said magazine. I'd always assumed it had to be a well oiled machine (maybe lubed by Pabst Blue Ribbon), that had multiple people involved. Eventually, I found out he was said magazine...he was the creator and founder of it. I was blown away. It's now been twenty years of this man working hard, facilitating, looking out for the little guy and being a trustworthy source of unbiased and like-minded information for this city.

Join Harrison and Clair as we sit and discuss the creation of RVA Magazine and the upcoming 20 year anniversary celebration with it's founder Tony.

Let's celebrate it with him and with each other.

Episode 7 of It's Still Our City: Tony Harris.
