Colossians 3:12-17 & Ephesians 5:20

Today we read Paul's letter to the Colossians. He writes, " And whatever you do, whether in word or action, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." The kids will learn that this really means in whatever we do. We don't give thanks or serve God only when we are having fun or getting a gift. To help them understand, we use real life examples: Instead of complaining that they they have to clean up their toys, they can remember they get to clean them up because they are thankful God gave them toys to clean up. I hope today's episode reminds your family of God's truth and encourages conversations.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To enjoy the library of bonus content (coloring pages, sheets, memory verse, etc) for the episodes go here and click bonus content. By enjoying them, you also help support this podcast so THANK YOU! With your help, we're getting closer to reaching our goal which gives us the freedom to continue this podcast without charging for episodes.

To connect with us, go here.

For our free Read-A-Loud pdf book go here.

See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Scripture Reference: 2 Kings 7:1-16, Proverbs 3:5

In the city of Samaria, there was a big problem—no food! Four lepers decide to go to the enemy camp to see if they can find anything to eat. To their surprise, they find the camp empty! Tune in to hear what God did that caused the camp to be empty and save the people in an unexpected way.

Kids will define what a famine and prophet are.

We’ll discuss the power and goodness of God; how He provides in ways we’d never expect and that we can trust our loving Father.

We’ll discuss how the lepers understood that to stay silent and to selfishly not share the blessings would be sin. They knew others had no food! They had a responsibility to share the good news.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Psalm 139 & Acts 17:25-26

Today, we jump right in learning that you can thank God for making you. He has a plan for you, a purpose, and was not suddenly surprised, scrambling to figure out where you would live and when you’d be born. God made YOU on purpose & the Bible doesn't say you are just an okay, kind of good work of God ... it says that you are a wonderful work of God! We discuss how we should be cautious to compare ourselves with others and how we can delight in our differences and similarities.
