Welcome to Employed! Today we are listening to Tamara De Beuf and Linsey Raymaekers. Tamara is an alumna of the master Forensic Psychology and Linsey is (together with Corine de Ruiter) the programme coordinator. Tamara talks about her current job as a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience. She talks about the joys and challenges of a research position in academia and the winding road that led to where she is now. She highlights the skills she has learned and wants to learn and talks about the implications of new technologies in the field. Let’s listen to Tamara and Linsey.

Job is an alumnus of the master Psychology specialisation Cognitive Neuroscience, and Giancarlo is the programme coordinator. Job talks about his current position as scientific director of Scannexus, the ultra high field imaging centre in Maastricht, and his job as co-host of the children’s tv programme on the brain called BrainStorm. He talks about staying open and finding a position that fits you, even if it may stray a bit from your original path. Just because you’re specialised in your training, doesn’t mean you cannot be valuable outside of that field. And how difficult times in your life and career can be the best learning moments. Welcome to Employed! Today we are listening to Caroline Huijts-de Jong and Lisa Jonkman. Caroline is an alumna from the master Psychology specialisation Developmental Psychology. Lisa is the programme coordinator. Caroline talks about her work, first as a teacher and now as a behavioural scientist and student councelor. She talks about the important aspects of this master’s programme that she has carried with her into working life, and how the soft skills are just as important as the hard knowledge you gain.
