On November 2, 2016, Sherri Papini left her Redding, CA home to go on a jog. When Sherri didn’t return home, the mom of two was reported missing. Sherri Papini’s case became a media frenzy and suspicion fell on her husband, Keith Papini. Law enforcement and the public began to think Keith had something to do with his wife’s disappearance. Three weeks after Sherri went missing, she turned up again reporting that her captors had set her free. Sherri was visibly injured and seemingly traumatized by what her abductors had done to her. Then, it became apparent that Sherri had made the entire, bizarre story up. The media dubbed Sherri the real life “Gone Girl” as the shocking details of her kidnapping hoax unfolded. In this episode, Jami and Melissa recap the Hulu docuseries Perfect Wife: The Mysterious Disappearance of Sherri Papini and give their own takes on the case throughout.
