<p>Laodikean seurakunta oli ylpeä ja hengellisesti penseä. Se piti itseään menestyvänä ja riippumattomana, mutta Jeesus paljasti seurakuntalaisten välinpitämättömyyden ja tietämättömyyden omasta hengellisestä tilastaan. Jeesus on heitetty seurakunnan ulkopuolelle. </p> <p>Kirje Laodikealle rohkaisee meitä parannukseen ja arvioimaan omaa hengellistä tilaamme. Paluu läheiseen yhteyteen Kristuksen kanssa on mahdollista. Kolkuttavalle avataan!</p>

<p>Filadelfian seurakunta saa kiitosta kestävyydestään ja pitäytymisestään Jumalan Sanassa. Vaikka se oli voimiltaan heikko, oli Jeesus avannut uskovien eteen oven josta se sai rohkeasti käydä eteenpäin, evankeliumia levittäen. Kun kuljemme rukoillen Sanan viitoittamalla tiellä, saamme luottaa turvallisesti siihen, että Hän johdattaa meitä. </p>

<p>Miten Jumala tuomitsee heidät, joille ei koskaan ole julistettu evankeliumia tai jotka ovat eläneet aikana ennen Jeesuksen ylösnousemusta? Onko Jumala epäreilu, sillä kaikilla ihmisillä ei ole ollut tilaisuutta kuulla evankeliumia ja ottaa Jeesusta vastaan Vapahtajanaan? Tähän vaikeaan kysymykseen emme saa tyhjentävää vastausta tässä ajassa, vain Jumala tietää vastauksen. Saamme kuitenkin luottaa siihen, että Jumala on oikeudenmukainen ja rakastaa jokaista. </p>
