<p>Welcome Back! </p> <p>It's been a hot minute since our last episode with the birth of my third bubba. Now it's time to get recording again!</p> <p>In this episode we speak with Angelique Wood, a mother of two who lives here in Perth, Australia. Angelique had two beautiful water births but the experiences leading up the births were very different. </p> <p>Angelique shares how the pressure to have a c-section created immense stress and how she advocated for herself the entire pregnancy for the birth she wanted.</p> <p>Angelique then shares how healing her second sons birth was with the support and trust of her birth team. </p> <p>We discuss:</p> <p>- The birth of her first son who was born during the pandemic in a birthing centre in Mexico, where she birthed at 42 weeks</p> <p>- How she had to advocate for herself and fight the system for her natural birth and rights in labour</p> <p>- How the pressure from the medical team impacted her birthing experience</p> <p>- Angelique's birth of her second son in Perth, Australia at the Family Birthing Centre </p> <p>- How this was a very empowering, supportive and healing experience for her - The importance of choosing aligned birth and support people</p> <p>- How the birthing environment can impact the birth experience</p> <p>- How to advocate for yourself and your natural birth amongst external pressures</p>
