Alan Saunders and Zachary Smith discuss all things Pittsburgh Steelers. On today's episode, we discuss what to make of Adam Schefter's latest Draft into. Could Shedeur Sanders really fall into the Steelers' lap at pick 21? Would they pull the trigger if he did. Is George Pickens a name to watch on the trade block during the NFL Draft? Is the team still keeping an eye on Kirk Cousins? Who is a prospect that we haven't talked about that could make sense for the team to draft? Let's go for another Steelers Afternoon Drive and discuss all this and more! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Welcome to Steelers Morning Rush, our new daily short-form podcast with Alan Saunders, giving a longer perspective on a single news topic surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers or the National Football League. Today, it's the idea that the Steelers have changed course when it comes to selecting a quarterback early in the 2025 NFL Draft. At the end of the 2024 NFL Draft cycle, the two positions that the Steelers needed to address but didn't have the capital to do so were wide receiver and defensive tackle. The Steelers immediately turned to the trade market to address the acute need at wide receiver, first targeting Brandon Aiyuk before eventually landing DK Metcalf earlier this offseason. The need at defensive tackle was more big picture, so the assumption was that they'd wait until the 2025 NFL Draft, a class that looked deep at the position. When the Steelers top brass spent the 2025 Senior Bowl obsessing over that position, it seemed likely that was the way they'd lean in this year's draft. But things have changed. The Steelers were unable to work out a deal with either of their incumbent quarterback options, and haven't been able to land Aaron Rodgers, either, leaving their depth chart relatively barren late into April. There's also some shifting winds about who might be available to them at quarterback, with the chance of Shedeur Sanders falling to No. 21 overall now becoming likely enough that the team is taking it seriously.
