<p>On the sixth episode of "Value Matters," Johann welcomes Nikos Kourentzes, a professor of predictive analytics at the University of Skovde in Sweden. Nikos conducts research on predictive analytics, mostly in the realm of supply chain management. In a recent article titled "Forecasting in Practice: Is Forecast Accuracy Really the Issue?" Nikos shares his latest research on what he refers to as forecast congruency. This research will soon be published in a working paper with Kandrika Pritularga. In this research, he focuses on a specific characteristic of a forecast: its stability over time, a characteristic he calls congruency. As he explains, "firms have often preferred forecasts that are more similar over time, as these may lead to easier decisions afterwards, such as orders to replenish inventory." In this episode, Nikos and Johann discuss this concept of stability/congruency, its implementation, and its potential impact on supply chains. Subscribe to the Value Matters podcast now and get ready to unlock the secrets of driving maximum value in supply chain. And remember... when it comes to improving and optimizing activities, "value matters" more than anything else!
