On episode 7 of Wait...I'm a Mom?!, Alicia "Ace" West chats with THE Nneka Elliot, someone Alicia has secretly looked up to for years. During their chat, Nneka shares her history as an award-winning media personality, why she shifted to focus on acting and content creation and how she now integrates motherhood into her career.

We also chat about decisions, that sometimes can be controversial, like doing extended breastfeeding, exclusively co-sleeping, hiring Nanny's. Nneka breastfed her daughter, Reign, for just over 3 years (which is truly mind boggling to Alicia who couldn't make it past 2 months.) This was a decision she made solely based off of what she felt was right for both her daughter and her body and her mental, which is something Nneka considers when making every decision. She also reflects on having a baby during the COVID era, going into labour the day she moved (!!), and how she is rediscovering and prioritizing herself now that her breastfeeding journey has concluded.

They say motherhood is the best hood but it's still a bit ghetto.

Wait...I'm a Mom?! is a podcast about motherhood, specifically Black motherhood. Whether you are a new mom, experienced, step, adoptive, in between or none of the above, these stories will share different perspectives of motherhood in a real and authentic way to us.

To join the gang, follow Wait...I'm a Mom?! on Instagram, YouTube and all podcast services.

Instagram: http://www.instagram/waitimamompodcast

Apple: https://tr.ee/D2McqQvKeG

Spotify: https://tr.ee/zmcditScQZ

Hosted on Acast.
Welcome to episode 5 of Wait...I'm a Mom?! hosted by Alicia "Ace" West, a podcast about motherhood and how ghetto it can be.

What would you do if you got an interview for your dream job the day you gave birth to your first child? Would you take the interview or pass on the opportunity? Laura Wilson took a leap of faith and had an interview for her dream job then gave birth to her baby girl hours later. Of course she landed the job which meant that she had very little down time to heal and build that connection before jumping back into the workforce. What's that Beyoncé line? "Strong enough to bear the children...Then get back to business." That line suits Laura Wilson's story like no other, especially because she is a huge Beyoncé fan, a certified BeeHive member! Check out the latest episode of Wait...I'm a Mom?! as we discuss life as a mom and corporate baddie.

Be sure to follow the podcast on all platforms.
