In deze podcast bespreken raadslid Catrien Bijleveld en onderzoeker Erik Schrijvers het adviesrapport ‘Aandacht voor media. Naar nieuwe waarborgen voor hun democratische functies’. In dit rapport stelt de WRR dat nieuw mediabeleid noodzakelijk is om de democratische functies van media in onze samenleving te borgen. Aan bod komen de achtergronden van het onderzoek, de belangrijkste bevindingen en de vier hoofdaanbevelingen. ‘Als je kijkt naar de lokale en de regionale journalistiek, zijn daar de afgelopen jaren hele forse klappen gevallen. Er heeft echt verschraling van het aanbod plaatsgevonden.’
